Cha Wa Virtual Concert (CANCELLED)

Cha Wa is rooted in traditional New Orleans Mardi Gras Indian music mixed with funk and soul. Combining the thumping sousaphone bass beats and interlocking riffs of a New Orleans brass band with the rituals, moves, and garb of a Mardi Gras Indian troupe, Cha Wa brings a blast of soul straight out of New Orleans. PopMatters describes the band as “a grand gumbo of singing, intoxicating rhythms, and deep funk grooves that are impossible to resist.”

Tropical storm Sally has forced band members to evacuate their families from New Orleans, making it impossible for Cha Wa to come together and record this concert. We hope we’re able to reschedule in the future. We’re sending positive vibes to Cha Wa and our friends on the Gulf Coast.
