José Mateo Ballet Theatre’s Dance for World Community, in partnership with ArtsBoston, Cambridge Arts and Harvard Square Business Association, presents Cambridge for Ukraine -a free gathering to show solidarity with and to raise funds for those affected by the war in Ukraine.
Performances include World Ballroom Showdance Silver Medalists Ukraine-born Nazar Batih and Cambridge’s own Mariko Cantley; José Mateo Ballet Theatre’s YouthWorks; New England’s premier African dance group Benkadi Drum and Dance; internationally-renowned cellist Alan Toda-Ambaras; young artists from Triveni Dance; acclaimed flamenco dance artist Clara Ramona; consummate classical Indian dance artist Soumya Rajaram; ethereal voices of the St. Andrew’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church Choir and more.
Speakers include Brian Corr, Community Activist; Professor Darren Kew, Executive
Director, Center for Peace, Democracy and Development at UMASS McCormack Graduate School; Oleh Kotsyuba, Manager of Publications at the Ukraine Research Institute at Harvard University; Jose Mateo, Founder/Director of Dance for World Community; and Cambridge Mayor Sumbul Siddiqui.
