Beginner Series: Sterling Silver Band Ring with Laurie Savage

Class: $90 (Includes a $5 Studio Fee)

Materials fee: $40 Directly payable to the instructor at the beginning of the class

Description:

In this class, you will design and fabricate your own sterling-silver textured band ring. The instructor will provide you with hands-on, step-by-step instructions in fundamental techniques including texturing, filing, forming, soldering, polishing, and more. You will be provided with all the materials you need to design, practice, and create your ring.

Please note: A $40 materials fee is payable to the instructor at class.

About the instructor: Laurie Savage received a BFA in metalsmithing from MassArt in 1998. She has taught the jewelry program at Cambridge Center for Adult Education since 1999, and metalsmithing workshops at Haystack, the DeCordova Museum School, Motherbrook Arts Community, Arlington Community Education and LEXArt. She maintains a studio in the Distillery Building in South Boston, and her work is available by commission.
