While the band’s July tour to Washington D.C., Philadelphia and New York has been postponed they have been working on a new album of all original songs including the new single “Nitro” which became a true collaborative effort that reached beyond the members of the band.

Legendary drummer, composer, arranger and producer Poogie Bell was moved by a rough cut of the tune and offered to provide the drum track. He had invited artists to submit songs to his online “Lockdown Recording Series” and the ones he liked best he would bless with his jazz-infused drumming. “Nitro”, Bell said the song was “a trip” and his contribution makes “Nitro” explode! Bell, based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, has worked extensively with bassist Marcus Miller and as a sideman for other artists such as Erykah Badu, Victor Bailey, David Bowie, Stanley Clarke, Randy Crawford, Roberta Flack, Al Jarreau, Chaka Khan, Angelique Kidjo, Joe Sample, David Sanborn, John Scofield, Stanley Turrentine, Luther Vandross, Vanessa Williams and Victor Wooten.
Boston’s distinguished producer Joe Eagan produced the two previous Bees Deluxe albums, including “Mouthful of Bees,” engineered, arranged and mixed “Nitro.” The Rhode Island fine artist and friend of the band, Wendy Brusick, lent her work entitled “Anxious Man” as the cover art for the song.
