Artist Domenic Esposito Hosts Solo Exhibition, Vox Clamantis

In 2018, Domenic achieved national attention through his massive opioid spoon sculptures placed in front of the headquarters of the FDA, Purdue Pharma and Rhodes Pharma, making a statement on behalf of all those deeply affected by this national crisis. He also founded the Opioid Spoon Project to help seek legal justice and bring voice to the destructive effects of opioid addiction on people from all walks of life.

Domenic’s newest work to be displayed at this show, reflects the devastation of opioid addiction, as well as coping with loss, recovery and finding hope. Through the use of metal and paint, he symbolizes his commitment to exposing accountable parties, both examining individual authority and raising a fist to societal malfeasance. His process is about elevating commonplace objects that once upon a time had naive functionality in our everyday environments and have now become for him, symbols of isolation, harm and loss.

There will also be events with leading artists, authors and notable individuals with a connection to Domenic’s art and activism. Journalist and author Sam Quinones is scheduled to discuss his latest book The Least of Us, on Saturday, Jan. 22 at the Piano Craft Gallery.
