Kyle Stephan surveys new acquisitions by German artist Wolf Vostell, one of the first artists to incorporate television into artworks.
The Harvard Art Museums recently acquired 72 artworks, including prints, multiples, audiovisual works, sculptures, and performance ephemera, by German artist Wolf Vostell (1932–1998). A founder of the international artist group Fluxus and a pioneer of the art of Happenings in the 1960s, Vostell was one of the first artists to incorporate television into artworks.
