Growing up on the South coast of Massachusetts Deana Tavares began finding her poetic words at the age of thirteen to process the world around her. She believes that music opened up the doors to her world. Through her very deep connection to music, Deana was then able to better express herself through language. As a visual artist and poet, these two worlds eventually merged creating harmony and fluidity within her work. This artist and writer finds herself simultaneously meandering through nature, tackling social issues, love, loss and everything in between through her macro lens focusing on expressing her very own unique perspective.
Although this is her debut collection of poetry Deana’s writing can be found in various online and print publications. Art On The Trails 2019, 2020, & 2022. Her work can also be seen in Hope Through Community 2021, and Complacency Kills 2021. Saveprouty.org, Engagingpeace.org, and jummyjeenz.com are just a few online locations where she has shared her outlook and writing more widely. Some of her recurring topics are peace, love, grief, unity, adversity, healing nature, oneness, and interconnectedness. Deana currently resides in Dedham, MA with her series of large acrylic paintings keeping a watchful eye over her.
