Chamber Music with the Criers is back with “Passion and Soul” on Oct. 9 at St. John’s Church in JP! Enjoy an afternoon of live, in-person music-making with Grammy-nominated ensemble A Far Cry.
Passion and Soul pairs two string sextets that epitomize the collaborative, conversational essence of a larger chamber ensemble: Johannes Brahms’s youthful Sextet in B-flat Major, and Pulitzer Prize winning composer Shulamit Ran’s Lyre of Orpheus. The Brahms begins with the suggestion of a waltz, then whisks us to a love song, a pithy scherzo, and concludes with a rich rondo. In-person tickets are available for purchase anytime online or by phone. A limited number of tickets will be available for purchase at the door starting at 3:30pm on the day of the concert.
