Sojourner Truth used the phrase “Ain’t I a Woman?” in her famous 1851 speech at the Women’s Rights Convention in Akron, OH. As one of the central voices in the abolitionist movement, Truth’s question has, for generations, served as a sounding horn in the advocacy of rights and political equality of all women.
