Presented by Coro Allegro at Online/Virtual Space

Apr 25 2021
A Conversation Still Needed: William Grant Still and Black Lives

An afternoon of conversation and music exploring composer William Grant Still’s courageous stand for Black lives and its legacy.

Coro Allegro, Boston's LGBTQ+ and allied classical chorus, presents Jonathan Q. Berryman, Director of the Heritage Chorale of New Haven, in "A Conversation Still Needed," the second program of our Amplifying Black Voices series, led by Black composers, conductors, artists, and advocates with whom we are proud to have partnered.

In 1999, Coro Allegro and the Heritage Chorale of New Haven were the first LGBTQ+ and African American choruses to collaborate on William Grant Still's 1940 double choir
