Hear the swinging tunes made by and for Benny Goodman, as played by his only living student, Ukrainian-born clarinetist Julian Milkis together with pianist Maxim Lubarsky and his trio.
Clarinetist Julian Milkis, together with a trio led by Berklee professor Maxim Lubarsky (like Julian, a native of Odesa, Ukraine), takes the audience on a journey into the enchanting musical world of the American clarinetist and bandleader called the “King of Swing.”
Julian will share personal stories about Goodman while playing traditional jazz and classical music from Benny’s repertoire. The program will include pieces by Alec Templeton, Dick Hyman, Morton Gould, Gordon Jenkins, Astor Piazzola, W.A. Mozart, Faina Lushtak, Alexey Shor, Alexander Tsfasman and more.
