Newman Elementary School

Newman Elementary School

The Newman community is extremely proud of our wonderful student body, generous parents, and talented and compassionate staff. The Newman Elementary School is an inclusive neighborhood school in Needham, Massachusetts. Our school includes children from Kindergarten through fifth grade as well as children ages three to five who attend Needham’s Early Childhood Center, located at our school. Newman also includes an Early Learning Center for children with special needs in kindergarten through second grade. Our student body is a diverse, creative, and energetic group of about 800 students. Our parents work tirelessly supporting all aspects of the school including funding a very large curriculum enhancement program and a grants program for our teachers. The Newman School is grounded in the principles of the Responsive Classroom, which helps create learning environments where children thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. While keeping these principles in mind, the teachers and staff continually work to develop and implement the best possible curriculum for all our students.
