Gloucester Stage Theater

Gloucester Stage Theater

Home of Gloucester Stage Company, the 178 seat blackbox theater hosts professional and community events year round.

Originally built as the Twin Lights Garage in 1915, the brick warehouse building on the Smith Cove has seen many tenants over the century of use, including Gorton’s Seafood. Gloucester Stage moved into the building in 1985 thanks to a warm welcome from Gorton’s, and eventually purchased the building in 2006.

The theater provides an intimate, flexible 3/4 thrust, black box space that can successfully accommodate performances, conferences, and catered events. An Italian-style amaro bar, Dopo Teatro, welcomes patrons in the lobby starting April 1st each year – along with snacks and handcrafted confections from Cake Ann Bakery.

These facilities are available for rent at commercial and non-profit rates, subject to scheduling availability. For more information and booking-related questions or inquiries email info@gloucesterstage.com

PARKING INFO

Early arrival is encouraged for all patrons, as parking can sometimes prove challenging.

With a supportive neighborhood sharing the free on-street parking around the theater, patrons will be able to find safe parking spots within a five minute walk on the fullest of shows. There are three accessible parking spaces and a drop off area directly in front of the theater.

Additional free parking is available in the Rocky Neck Cultural District; simply take the next right turn after passing the theater, and you’ll see the parking lot on your right along with on street parking.

When parking on neighboring streets, be double-sure to not block driveways and make room for easy passage on the sidewalk.
