This restored 1500+ seat theatre – considered Boston Theater District’s “Little Princess” – continues to be the home for many local community arts organizations. The Shubert Theatre also serves as a venue for the touring companies that present Broadway, theater, music, dance, and opera.

The Wang and Shubert Theatres offer accessible seating. Accessible seating is available at a variety of prices throughout the Theatres. How can I purchase accessible seating tickets to performances?
Boch Center offers accessible and companion seating in a variety of prices and locations throughout the Theatres. Tickets for performances at the Shubert Theatre may be purchased online or by calling 866.300.9761 (TTY 888.889.8587). Tickets for performances at the Wang Theatre may be purchased online or by calling 800.745.3000 (TTY 800.943.4327). For all three theatres tickets can be purchase at the Boch Center Box Office in person, Tuesday - Saturday, 12 Noon to 6PM. Please inform the ticket seller you would like to purchase accessible seats.

Does the Theatre offer ASL, audio-described or transliterated performances?
Whenever possible the theatres try to offer ASL, audio-described or transliterated performances. Please contact info@bochcenter.org for more information.

Does the Boch Center have an Accessible and TTY numbers?
The phone numbers for Wang Theatre are Accessible: 800.745.3000, TTY: 800.943.4327 and the Shubert Theatre are Accessible: 866.300.9761 and TTY: 888.889.8587.

How soon before the performance should I purchase accessible seating?
The Boch Center strongly recommends that guests purchase their tickets in advance to obtain the desired seat location. In the event that all non-accessible seat locations are sold out for a performance, accessible seating locations will be the last released to the general public.

Can I get a companion seat with my accessible seat?
Yes. Both Theatres offer companion seats along with accessible seating.

Do the Wang and Shubert Theatres each have an elevator?
The Wang Theatre is equipped with an elevator available in the Grand Lobby to all levels of the Theatre. An accessible chair lift provides access to the Lower Lobby. The Shubert Theatre does not have an elevator; however, an accessible unisex bathroom is located off the Main Lobby.

How does Boch Center pay for disability access programs and facility upgrades?
Each year, a portion of Boch Center's operating budget is allocated for Community Service Expenditure, which includes direct cash grants, performance underwriting and discounted Rental fees for local nonprofit resident companies. We also include Access Programming, which includes ASL-interpreted and audio-described public performances for individuals who are deaf, blind or have communication disorders, and facility improvements which maintain physical access to the Center. Additional funding for Access Programming has been provided in the past by VSA Arts Massachusetts, the Bay State Council of the Blind, and various private foundations.
