Mission
The mission of Marsha Parrilla/Danza Orgánica is to help strengthen the community’s vision and commitment to social justice, and to promote healthy diversity through Dance Performance, Dance Education, and Film.

What is Danza Orgánica?
Danza Orgánica is a way of creating movement art that does not rely heavily on preexisting dance forms. It alludes to the Japanese aesthetic of Wabi Sabi, which accepts and embraces transience and imperfection. Keeping in mind exquisite aesthetic principles, we make composition choices that give way to high quality choreography. The goal is to extract truly organic movement that leads to unique, innovative and creative compositions.
Danza Orgánica was founded in 2007 by Puerto Rican artist Marsha Parrilla. It shares residency between New York City and Boston, Massachusetts. DO is committed to promoting diversity, and to fight for social justice. It is also heavily driven by the exploration of exciting choreographic elements, and by the collaboration with artists of multiple genres and disciplines.
