The Art of Charity, a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization, began holding annual art auctions in 1994 and continued for 11 years, raising hundreds of thousands of dollars for the town’s youngsters. The auctions were retired six years ago, and fundraising continued through an annual appeal letter. This year the mooncussers who run the Foundation decided to resurrect the auction in honor of the town’s tercentennial and to once again highlight the need for continuing financial support for organizations such as Monomoy Community Services, boy and girl scouts, the Chatham Teachers Fund, the Eldredge Public Library and many more.
