The AIC Center, run by the American Islamic Congress, is a cultural center with a gallery that features emerging local and international artists, particularly those who explore Muslim cultural identity through innovative art. The gallery is open to the public and people of all backgrounds. Overlooking the Back Bay, the center’s gleaming white interior hall includes a stage for artistic performances, roundtables, and social events. The American Islamic Congress is a civil rights organization that promotes tolerates and the exchange of ideas among Muslims and between all peoples. With offices in Washington, Cairo, Tunis, Baghdad, and Basra, the organization’s annual local programming includes the Boston Muslim Film Festival, the “Mimouna” interfaith celebration with the New Center for the Arts, and an annual food drive for the Pine Street Inn.
