The Peabody Institute Library has been an important landmark in Danvers since 1892. Much has changed since the early days when a library patron was allowed to borrow just one book at a time. Today, we want the library to be the center of life long learning for everyone in the community. To that end, we provide the residents of Danvers with a rich and varied collection of books, media, access to internet, and a variety of databases.

We create informational and recreational programs and participate in an automated network with neighboring cities and towns. We also maintain an important archival collection which includes town records, church records, and thousands of documents relating to the history of the town. In other words, there is something for everyone here at the library.
