A Revolution of Values Theatre Project, founded by Greg Allen and Letta Neely in 2020, is a dynamic and innovative theatre company dedicated to challenging contemporary values and advocating for equity and justice. With a strong focus on creating thought-provoking performances, this groundbreaking company pushes the boundaries of traditional theatre and seeks to engage audiences in meaningful dialogues.

The project’s inaugural event, the “Revolution of Values Black Theatre Project,” showcased their commitment to amplifying Black voices and perspectives. This virtual theatre festival featured ten predominately Black playwrights from Boston, New England, and nationwide who were commissioned to create captivating “zoom plays” for virtual presentations. Playwrights included Renita Martin, Cliff Odle, Terrence Riggins, Lyralen Kay, and Lou Johnson, among others. The festival’s resounding success served as a catalyst for further creative endeavors.

Building on their initial triumph, Greg Allen and Letta Neely embarked on the exciting journey of developing and presenting Letta’s new work, “Pulling It All Into The Current.” This production promises to captivate audiences with its poignant exploration of pressing societal issues while challenging conventional theatrical norms.

A testament to their collaborative spirit, A Revolution of Values Theatre Project is set to co-produce “Summer of Love and Humanity – Three plays by playwrights Richard Ravosa, Lyralen Kaye, and Letta Neely” with Six Corners Entertainment at the Blackbox Theatre, located in the vibrant Boston Center for the Arts. Scheduled for late July to August, this upcoming production will be a captivating and inspiring experience, showcasing the company’s dedication to fostering inclusivity and promoting social change.

Looking ahead to 2024, A Revolution of Values Theatre Project has an exciting production in store. Letta Neely’s powerful play, “Shackles and Sugar,” will grace the stage, providing a thought-provoking and deeply impactful exploration of themes related to history, identity, and the human experience.

With their commitment to pushing boundaries, championing underrepresented voices, and provoking transformative conversations, A Revolution of Values Theatre Project has begun to make an indelible mark on the theatrical landscape in Boston and beyond. Their innovative and socially conscious approach to storytelling promises to leave a lasting impact on audiences and inspire positive change in society.
