Founded in 1954, today’s WNBA serves women and people of all gender identities in the greater Boston area who believe our world is better for the books on our shelves. We offer networking opportunities, educational events, and social programs that honor our original mission to promote equality in the world of arts and letters.

We are writers, readers, booksellers, librarians, and publishers. We devour literary fiction, thrillers, historical tomes and graphic novels. Finding an intellectual respite in this complicated, messy world is vital. Come meet others who disappear into stories to learn more about themselves and about others. We are a community of the book. If you love books — electronic, paper, or audible, you are one of us.

This year, in addition to our virtual programming, we’ve added social networking events in locations in and around Boston. Join us for a single night’s event or for years to come as a chapter member. Every other month you’ll have a newsletter with something that will make you smile. What bookish people have in common is we crave stories. Add a new chapter to your story and the ending might surprise you!
