After a 10 year hiatus, we are excited to announce the revival of the Brookline Symphony Orchestra! We seek to present concerts of the highest quality to audiences in Brookline, as well as to become an integral part of the Brookline community. We are a combination of community players, talented students, and young professionals. All members of the orchestra, except for the concertmaster, are volunteers. Our conductor, Eric Hewitt, enjoys an active and diverse musical career. He serves primarily as Chair of the Boston Conservatory Woodwind Department, and is the music director of The Boston Conservatory Wind Ensemble. He also serves as music director of White Rabbit, avant-garde ensemble-in-residence at Harvard University, and the Charles River Wind Ensemble. Mr. Hewitt holds a BM in saxophone performance and an MM in conducting from the New England Conservatory, both with a distinction in performance and academic honors. We rehearse weekly at the Korean Church in Brookline Village. We will perform three concerts per year at All Saints Parish in Washington Square. We will also volunteer in various community events.
