This October, the United Nations Association of Greater Boston (UNA-GB) and the Harvard Kennedy School New England Alumni Association will present the 8th annual Global Voices Film Festival, featuring the documentary films of talented moviemakers from around the world. These films deal with timely subjects ranging from the plight of migrant farmworkers in the US to the interpretation of Islam in Syria, and from the complexities of water use in developed countries to the role of widows in India — subjects meant to engage dialogue on issues that matter to all of us as humans. This year’s Festival will be held October 8-11, 2009.
Screening for the first time films from the Cannes Film Festival, Global Voices provides a forum through which the Greater Boston community can consider global issues through the creative eyes of filmmakers, and allows audiences to interact with the filmmakers themselves, who have been invited to attend. Back by popular demand are a session of short films and a public workshop on presenting international issues through film.

The Festival comes at a strategic time of the year, when Boston is alive with new and returning students, eager to explore the possibilities of the new year. This college community itself is very diverse; added to the vibrant international community who live and work in Boston, there is certain to be an enthusiastic audience for the Festival, expected to draw over 1,000 people throughout the weekend.

Various sponsorship levels are available. This is a great opportunity to associate your organization with an artistic and entertainment-focused event that focuses on global understanding, and offers a unique opportunity to reach Boston’s educated, diverse
community.
