Founded by volunteers in 1989, Newton Community Pride (NCP) promotes volunteerism, supports beautification projects and builds community through year round arts and culture programming in the city of Newton for all to enjoy. Our sponsored events and programs are funded primarily through business sponsorships and individual donations. Our largest grant recipient is the city of Newton’s Cultural Development Office in the Parks, Recreation & Culture Department.

NCP also acts as fiscal agent for event organizers and special projects that align with their mission such as Newton Open Studios & PorchFEST.  NCP relies heavily on volunteers throughout the year for support. Some of our events include The Linda Plaut Newton Festival of the Arts, Kids FunFest, NewtonSERVES, city wide Spelling Bee, the gardens on the Newton Center Green and in Newton Highlands, the July 4th fireworks celebration, free summer concerts across the city, public art initiatives in our village centers.

Newton Community Pride is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization with a thirteen-member board of directors led by Chair, Gloria Gavris. Blair Lesser Sullivan is Executive Director.
