The school and repertory theatre group was founded by local artists out of a desire to have a more in-depth and creative environment to train and work. Specializing in the Meisner method of acting. N.E.A.W prides itself on its approach to teaching, as well as its staff and student created productions. The Schools director Richard Bailey has trained at such notable places as Playhouse West in Los Angeles and has worked in the theater and film industry since 1996. Our head instructor Brianne Beatrice, Professional Actress, has been a North Shore favorite, working in and around the Boston area for years. She received her BFA in Acting at Salem State College and her MFA in Acting at The Pennsylvania State University. Currently a Professor of Acting at both Salem State College and Umass Boston, Beatrice also instructs Acting for the Camera classes at Actors Workshop Boston. Brianne was granted the opportunity to work side by side with the great playwright William Mastersimone, starring as the leading role in his new work "The Afghan Women". She has also received extensive Meisner training by Famous Actors William H. Macy and Joey Pantoliano. Beatrice learned the Meisner method from experts Jim Wise and Brant Pope. She also studied Acting for Film at the Professional Actors Lab, Toronto with Canadian Favorite, David Rotenberg. If you are looking for an acting school in Boston or New England where you can train and work like no other place in the area; where you can learn the true passion of acting and how to apply Meisner’s most magical technique of "Living TRUTHFULLY in imaginary circumstances", then look no further.
