Jubilate Chorale is comprised of members from Southeastern Massachusetts. For more than 30 years the group has been dedicated to promoting the performance and enjoyment of choral music within the community and encouraging youthful choristers to continue the development of musical skills through their adult lives. Initiatives include the Mary H. Wilcox Stipend Competition and High School Music Enhancement Program. The chorus is under the direction of Dr. Maxine M. Asselin, Professor Emeritus of Bridgewater State College. She holds degrees in Voice Performance from Eastman School of Music, Manhattan School of Music and in Music Education from the University of Connecticut. Prior to her teaching career, Dr. Asselin sang professionally in New York and New England. She has appeared with such notable conductors as Pierre Monteux, Eugene Ormandy, Leonard Bernstein and with the famed Robert Shaw Chorale. Jubilate Chorale has made several self-funded music tours to Europe, Canada and within the United States under Dr. Asselin’s direction.
