Event at Concord, MA's historic Armory honors the 201st birthday of its native daughter Ellen Garrison, educator and civil rights activist.
Featuring a behind-the-scenes peek at the new Half the History film, Ellen Garrison, Scene from an Activist’s Life, with producers Jennifer Burton and Julie Dobrow from Tuft’s University; honored Altadena, Calif., community leader Veronica James; inspiring poet Same Williams; bithday cake provided by Nosh/The Concord Market; and special musical guest Shy'Kira Allen, star of The Umbrella Art Center’s recent production of The Color Purple.
Free, open to everyone, and suitable for all ages. Presented by The Robbins House, The Umbrella Arts Center and Concord250.
