ABOUT THE SHOW:
The Guild of Boston Artists is proud to present What Nature Whispers, a solo exhibition by nationally recognized and internationally collected artist Christina Mastrangelo from June 8th - July 3rd. The aptly named exhibition will explore the intricate connections between humans and our natural surroundings through 40 paintings and drawings spanning from the later years of the artist's education in Florence to the present day, including 27 new artworks making their debut at this show!

For What Nature Whispers, her debut solo exhibition at the Guild, Mastrangelo offers a meditation on the delicate affinities between nature and humans. Inspired by the natural world and compelled to find grounding and peace in her surroundings, the artist carefully orchestrates conversations between still life, figure, flora, and fauna that suggest the depth and interconnectedness of us all. In tribute to their existence, each figure or object is carefully and realistically rendered, and yet the subtle idealizations and compositional choices lead us beyond mere representation into the captivating realm of the sublime.

Christina Mastrangelo has exhibited extensively since 2006, winning instant recognition for her paintings: in addition to being an elected member of the Guild of Boston Artists, she was a young member of the Salmagundi Club, a Hudson River Fellow, a scholarship winner from the International Salon of the Art Renewal Center, and has been asked to show at themed exhibits at The European Museum of Modern Art in Barcelona, Spain, the Michele and Donald D’Amour Museum of Fine Art in Massachusetts, and the Villa Bardini in Florence, Italy. She’s been honored and awarded by the Oil Painters of America, The Portrait Society of America, and the National Oil & Acrylic Painters’ Society. Her work resides in private collections in Spain, Iceland, Italy, England, Canada, Australia, and across the continental United States.
