Learn how to thoughtfully build your collection while preserving both the physical condition and financial value of your artworks. Discussion will focus on collection management best practices, risk mitigation, conservation, and fine art logistics. How do these considerations intersect with design and aesthetics?

Panelists

​Pamela Goeke has over 12 years of experience working in cultural heritage preservation for fine art and rare materials. As a fine art specialist for PURE Art Services she assists collectors with comprehensive collection management, risk assessment, and emergency planning and response. Prior to joining PAS, she’s worked with professional conservators in Germany and New York and is an active member of the American Institute for Conservation (AIC). She holds an MSLIS from Simmons University, and a BFA from Mason Gross School of the Arts.

Thomas Burns is the Chief Operating Officer of the Fortress Corporation, a fine art storage and service provider with locations in Boston and Miami. Tom oversees the day-to-day operations of fine art handling and storage at Fortress’s facilities. Tom graduated with honors from Brown University and received an MBA from the Stern School of Business at New York University.

Astrid Burns is a Senior Art Consultant at Powell Fine Art Advisory. Astrid has worked extensively with collections ranging from Contemporary Art and Photography to Maritime Art and Old Masters. Her clients include museums, artists, collectors, real estate developers and hotels. Astrid graduated from Brown University with a degree in studio art and art semiotics.

Allie Powell is a Certified Exit Planning Advisor and Wealth Strategist for Northern Trust in Boston, where he is responsible for client development for the New England Region. Prior to joining Northern Trust, Allie was a trusts and estate attorney, corporate litigator and in-house counsel. Allie graduated from Amherst College, cum laude, with a B.A. in American Studies, and earned his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law
