Live theater performance of Sanaz Toosi’s Wish You Were Here.
A circle of tight-knit girlfriends gather to plan weddings, trade dirty jokes, and try to hang onto a sense of normalcy as protests are breaking out all around them. Centered on a suburb of Iran from 1978 to 1991, each of the friends must choose whether to join a wave of emigration or to remain where the future is uncertain.
2023 Pulitzer Prize Winner Sanaz Toossi brings breathtaking humanity and cutting wit to the stage through these women’s stories, directed by Melory Mirashrafiº. Running from August 9 to 25, all performances are at Gloucester Stage’s Theater 267 East Main Street, Gloucester.
