The Arlington Jazz Festival, now in its 13th year, is scheduling a wide variety of musical events, presented over a 4-day stretch, in several venues around the town, with headliner Christian McBride and his quintet performing on the final day.
Mark your calendars for the 13th annual Arlington Jazz Festival, running from April 4-7, with the grand finale concert to be held at the Regent Theatre, located in the heart of Arlington Center.
Arlington Jazz Festival‘s Day 2, part 1, features the Arlington High School Jazz Band followed by the Boston/Havana Connection, led by Dan Fox. The Boston/Havana Connection will present a descarga (a Latin jazz jam session) featuring Cuban musicians from the band Espirales, who are on their first U.S. tour, as well as Boston-area jazz musicians and some Cuban musicians currently living in the Boston-area.
The Boston Havana Connection concert includes: Dan Fox (trombone), Mark Greel (trumpet), Anabel Gil Diaz (flute), Hilary Noble (sax and congas), Estefanía Núñez Villamandos (keyboards), along with members of Espirales: Tania Haase (violin & vocals), Olivia Rodríguez (bass), Alejandro Aguiar (percussion), Jesús Estrada (percussion), and Rodrigo García (keyboards). Espirales will also be featured in a concert on Day 3 of the Festival.
Admission to this particular night is free, donations welcome. The entire run of the Arlington Jazz Festival features concerts held in various venues around the town of Arlington. Admission prices will vary depending on the event. The Festival’s headquarters is based out of Morningside Music Studios.
