Director Alan White takes a groundbreaking approach, challenging traditional interpretations of Shakespeare’s classic. Featuring Vincent Ernest Siders in the titular role, Elisabet Ober as Desdemona, and Dayenne CB Walters as Iago, this rendition dives into the intricacies of gender identity and presentation by casting an actress in the antagonist role traditionally played by a man. Along with text Consultant Dev Luthra and Producers Lisa Burdick, Vincent, and Dayenne, Alan has crafted a version of Othello that resonates with contemporary themes of race, identity, and the complexities of human nature. The production revisits the classic tragedy with a fresh perspective, inviting the audience to imagine a different reality to an age old story.

Producer and Actor Dayenne shares her vision: "Our Othello diverges from the clichéd narrative dominated by racial enmity. We aim to present a story that reflects the intricacies of identity and society, challenging audiences to envision new possibilities." Director Alan White adds, "This production is a step towards addressing the long-standing inequities in theater. By casting a majority POC ensemble, we delve deeper into the themes of race and identity, offering a narrative that speaks to the shared experiences of People of Color throughout history."
