Born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Teresa Ines immersed herself in music from an early age. She explored flute, music theory, and composition, showcasing versatility by collaborating with local choro groups and leading choirs for music education in underdeveloped areas of Rio.
In the 1990s, Teresa's insatiable passion for music led her to Berklee in Boston, where she refined her singing and composition skills while delving into jazz. Her commitment to pushing creative boundaries and integrating jazz elements into Brazilian music defined her dynamic approach to the art.
Teresa's artistic identity is characterized by a seamless fusion of rhythms and sounds inspired by her native Brazil. With advanced training, creative musicality and an intimate understanding of Brazilian music, she sculpts a unique musical landscape. Her performances with various groups in Boston, New York and on international tours, along with accolades like being a finalist in the USA Songwriting Competition in 2023, highlight her significant contributions to the music scene.
