Celebrate the Winter Solstice with this delightful seasonal performance of Solstice stories and songs from cultures around the world with award-winning storyteller Diane Edgecomb, harper Margot Chamberlain and multi-instrumentalist Tom Megan.
Celebrate the Winter Solstice with this delightful seasonal performance filled with tales and songs from cultures around the world. This unique event brings to life fascinating and evocative stories told at the time of the longest nights from the beautiful Greek myth The Halcyon Days of Peace to Native American and Tanzanian stories of how the animal kingdom brought light and life during the darkest times. Created by and featuring award-winning performer and recording-artist Diane Edgecomb, the presentation is accompanied by long time collaborators: musicians Margot Chamberlain on Celtic harp and multi-instrumentalist Tom Megan whose original and revitalized songs of the season and evocative instrumentals round out the entertainment. A winner of both the national and regional Oracle awards for storytelling excellence, Edgecomb brings passion, humor and her charismatic "embodied storytelling" to every piece each of which is complemented by musical accompaniment and song. This inspiring event has been a beloved Boston area celebration of the Solstice for over thirty years.
"A storyteller in the grand tradition, Edgecomb is a virtuoso of the spoken word, an entire cast rolled into one." - Publisher's Weekly
