Yehudi Wyner at 95! with Kashkashian & Levin

Yehudi Wyner at 95! with Kashkashian & Levin

Presented by Bach, Beethoven, & Brahms Society at Harvard Club of Boston

The season concludes with a very special musical event: the world premiere of a new work by Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Yehudi Wyner, in celebration of his upcoming 95th birthday. Wyner is writing a duet-concertino for two dear friends, violist Kim Kashkashian and pianist Robert Levin, longtime recital partners and each at the pinnacle of musical artistry. With such luxury casting, they’ll also present their guests individually in music of Britten (Kim) and Mozart (Robert).

Program:

William Schuman: Amaryllis (Variants on an Old English Round)

Britten: Lachrymae (reflections on a song by Dowland)

Britten: 2. E.B.B. (from Two Portraits)

Mozart: Piano Concerto K. 449

Yehudi Wyner: Duet-concertino (BB&B commission)
