Woods Hole Film Festival 2023

Woods Hole Film Festival 2023

Presented by Woods Hole Film Festival at Redfield Auditorium at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute

The 32nd Woods Hole Film Festival will be fully in person from July 29-August 5, at Redfield Auditorium, Clapp Auditorium, and the Old Woods Hole Fire Station in Woods Hole, as well as the Simon Center for the Arts and Morse Hall at Falmouth Academy; most films will also be available to stream on the Festival’s virtual platform from August 6-13, immediately following the in-person festival\'s conclusion.

The festival includes 46 feature length and 66 short films—nearly half directed by women—from both first-time and veteran filmmakers, with a focus on films about science, music, films with New England ties, immigration, Black stories on film, and love stories. There are 5 world, 2 North American, and 1 US  premieres, most followed by in-person Q&A’s with the filmmakers and casts. Other activities include workshops, panel discussions, a master class with Filmmaker-in-Residence Allison Otto (The Thief Collector), live music at parties, and an awards ceremony.

Admission Info

In Person Tickets & Passes

Individual tickets are available for in-person screenings and events, and ticket packages and passes are also available at www.woodsholefilmfestival.org. In-person screenings, especially the shorts programs, do sell out, so purchasing tickets in advance is highly recommended. Or purchase tickets in person at the box office before the Festival at the Old Woods Hole Fire Station (72 Water Street, Woods Hole) from 10 AM-5 PM starting July 17, and during the festival from 10 AM to 8:30 PM daily. If available, day-of-show tickets may be available on a first-come, first-served basis in person at the box office and at the door. The best and easiest way to buy tickets is online, however. If you need help, you can email support@woodsholefilmfestival.org or call (508) 495-3456 or use the festival web site live chat function.
