Andrew Scanlon, Associate Organist and Choirmaster of The Church of the Advent, takes to the bench of The Great Organ to present a program of French Masters.
A Massachusetts native, Andrew Scanlon has returned to the area after having served as organ professor at East Carolina University and Organist-Choirmaster at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Greenville, NC. Prior to Greenville, he spent several years as adjunct organ faculty at Duquesne University and at positions in New York, Buffalo, Pittsburgh, and at Yale Divinity School.
He has given recitals throughout North America, Europe and Africa and performed at conventions of the American Guild of Organists (AGO) and the Organ Historical Society (OHS). He is a frequent clinician and workshop presenter for AGO chapters and for the Royal School of Church Music.
His program will include compositions by Franck, Tournemire, Langlais, Gigout, Cochereau and Vierne.
