Local organist Randy Steere presents a program entitled “Musical Thoughts on Lives Lived”, with works by Bissinger, Fey, Alain, Ireland, Saint-Saëns, Sowande, Vierne, and Weaver.
Methuen Memorial Music Hall houses The Great Organ, America's first concert organ. In the second concert of the 2023 Summer Series, Randy Steere recognizes Memorial Day with a program honoring lives lived.
Steere returned to active participation in the musical world in 2020, after working as an IT Director for a mid-sized law firm and running his own consulting and software company for 20 years. He holds a B.M. degree from Barrington College, an M.M. from Yales School of Music and Institute of Sacred Music, an M.Div. from Yale Divinity School, and a Master of Computer Science from RPI. He has served as Minister of Music at the First Church of Christ, Congregational, in Glastonbury, CT, taught organ performance, Handbells, and church music at Barrington College (now Gordon College), and served as Assistant Organist at Old South Church in Boston.
He is a Trustee of the Methuen Memorial Music Hall and heavily involved in the Groton Hill School of Music.
