The Orphan The Poet & Moontower

Presented by The Red Room @ Cafe 939 at The Red Room @ Cafe 939

The Orphan The Poet wants you to know they’re here and not going anywhere. Based out of Columbus, OH, the duo come bearing their own brand of take-it-or-leave-it alt rock and have been rapidly gaining fans thanks to their captivating live show. Pre-Quarantine had the band all over the country on festival bills like Firefly Music Festival, Bunbury Music Festival, and Summerfest. After garnering the attention of SiriusXM's Alt Nation and BBC’s Radio1, the band will hit this year hard with the new track,The Moxie. The Orphan The Poet has been seen topping playlists like Spotify’s The New Alt + New Music Friday, Apple Music’s Breaking Alternative, Youtube’s Alternative Hot List, and recently received support from KROQ in Los Angeles as well as alternative stations like Radio104.5 in Philadelphia, WEBN in Cincinnati, & DC101 in Washington, DC.

Moontower is a French House inspired electro-pop band (Jacob, Tom, and Devan) known for explosive live shows and multi-media releases. Moontower first gained a dedicated fanbase taking over the LA underground live scene and quickly grew to supporting acts including Bad Suns and YUNGBLUD before releasing any music. Now, Moontower fans love diving into the conceptual world the band builds around their releases. Their first two EPs dropped with a sitcom inspired music video series and an innovative live performance film. For their upcoming debut album (‘Season 2: Air Take Care’), the band wrote and shot a short film on a grounded 737 airplane. There will be pop-up screenings for the film where Moontower will also sell the custom clothing line they created for the album.

Moontower’s incredibly engaged fan base grew through touring heavily. The band always does 2-3 hour meet and greets and prioritizes grassroots marketing. Moontower uses their platform to progress gun control legislation and access to gender-affirming care. Jacob is openly pansexual and non-binary and ensures fans are supported to express and explore their identity. This is actualized on the band’s Discord (Take Care Inc) where fans constantly communicate and organize events such as meditations, book clubs, movie nights, and emotional support groups.
