Poetry for Grief & Healing: a workshop with Amanda Shea

Poetry for Grief & Healing: a workshop with Amanda Shea

Presented by Mount Auburn Cemetery at Mount Auburn Cemetery

Writing while grieving has been known to boost the immune system and increase mood and well-being. Writing can also help release difficult emotions and is a tool for self-expression.

Join poet, educator, and artivist AMANDA SHEA in a poetry writing workshop about healing from grief. The workshop will include a meditation, writing prompts, and an invitation to share with the group. No previous writing experience is required.

The workshop will take place in Bigelow Chapel.

After the workshop, join us for a free, open discussion about death and grieving at a Death Cafe, hosted by Mount Auburn Cemetery.

A Death Cafe is a group-directed discussion about death with no agenda, objectives, or themes. It is a discussion group-- not a grief support group or counseling session. The objective of a Death Cafe is to "increase awareness of death with a view to helping people make the most of their finite lives." There will be cake and tea available.

Registration is not required for the Death Cafe and seats are available on a first come first serve basis. The discussion will begin at 5:30pm in Bigelow Chapel.
