The Sandwich Glass Museum is proud to host one of the most influential contemporary glass artists of our time Ed Branson.
The exhibit runs from Wednesday, April 5 through Sunday, June 11, for his upcoming exhibit, A Lifetime with Glass. Branson feels strongly connected to the museum because in his early days as a glass blowing artist, Ed found himself inspired by the historic Sandwich Glass on a visit to the Sandwich Glass Museum.
His artistic approach is as follows: trust the glass, have fun, accept mistakes, study nature and search for beautiful forms and colors inherent in glass’ personality. Branson considers his career and life with glass as a rich one. In his words, “It has been educational, meaningful, difficult, surprising and beautiful.” Over the last 40 years, Ed feels that he has grown as an artist and feels humbled by the mystery, magic, history and energy of glass. Branson looks forward to sharing his lifelong experience with the lifelong characteristics of glass through his exhibition at the Sandwich Glass Museum, and the museum is honored to pay homage to this talented artist and his work.
A free public artist talk and reception is scheduled on Saturday, April 22nd from 5-7pm.
This exhibit is free with general admission of $12 for adults, $11 for 65+ $2 for children 6-14, and free for ages 5 and under, group rates available. Call for further information 508.888.0251 or www.sandwichglassmuseum.org
