Nora Valdez presents an installation titled “A Common Thread” offering a perspective on the immigrant journey. Adria Arch’s installation of latticed structures, both precarious and evocative figurative forms, is titled “Sirens and Sentinels”.
Arch abandons her usual ebullient use of color in favor of the starkness and mystery of white. Airy, latticed structures, slightly precarious in nature, evoke diverse connotations—from wedding cakes, chandeliers, and succulents, to tall quasi-figurative forms.
Valdez presents an installation full of themes reaching from the artist’s childhood home to contemporary global dilemmas, Valdez literally hangs out these issues to air on clotheslines strung across the gallery. Her signature stone carvings are also present.
