Artistic Director (and former Taylor dancer) Michael Novak and recently-appointed Resident Choreographer Lauren Lovette represent an exciting new team at the helm of one of America's iconic modern dance companies.

Since assuming the artistic director position, Novak has brought the company to new heights, including an ambitious commissioning project. “Paul Taylor knew what he was doing when he left his modern dance organization in the capable, creative hands of Michael Novak […] He not only cares about modern dance, but he also knows how to keep the memory of Paul Taylor–the strange parts, just as much as the joyful–fully alive,” reports the New York Times.

Resident Choreographer Lauren Lovette, a former New York City Ballet principal dancer who left her that company in her late 20s to focus full-time on choreography, debuts her second work created on the Paul Taylor Dance Company, a to-be-titled piece that will premiere in New York in November 2022. More than simply carrying Taylor's legacy forward, Lovette represents an infusion of new creative energy: watch for the influences of her ballet career and her contemporary approach to gender and partnering.

Audience favorites "Company B" and "Brandenburgs" demonstrate the humanity, musicality, buoyancy, and wit that were among Taylor's hallmarks.
