Stories and Tales

Presented by Phoenix and New England Conservatory at NEC's Jordan Hall

On December 2 at Jordan Hall Phoenix presents “Stories and Tales,” a concert bringing together four pieces attached by their ties to fantastical worlds and inspirations. Caroline Shaw’s Entr’acte was inspired by Alice in Wonderland, Derrick Skye’s Sunlight Spread draws on elements on son huasteco folk music from Mexico, each movement of Maurice Ravel’s Mother Goose is based on a separate children’s tale, and Aaron Copland’s Appalachian Spring tells the story of a young couple reminiscing about their lives while preparing their home in the wilderness for their future together.

PROGRAM
