The Concord Chamber Music Society presents the Escher Quartet in a program of Beethoven, Janáček and Brahms.
The Escher String Quartet has received critical acclaim for its profound musical insight and rare tonal beauty. Describing an Escher Quartet performance as “...eloquent, full-blooded playing... ,” the BBC Music Magazine states that “the four players offer a beautiful blend of individuality and accord.” A former BBC New Generation Artist, the quartet has performed at the BBC Proms at Cadogan Hall and is a regular guest at Wigmore Hall, London. In its home town of New York City, the ensemble serves as Season Artists of The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, where it has recently performed quartet cycles of Beethoven and Zemlinsky. The program will include the String Quartet in B-flat major, Op. 18, No. 6 by Ludwig van Beethoven, String Quartet No. 2, “Intimate Letters,” by Leoš Janáček and the String Quartet in C Minor, Op. 51, No. 1 by Johannes Brahms.
Parking in Concord Center is available on Walden and Main Streets, in the lot adjacent to the Concord Free Public Library and in municipal lots behind Middlesex Savings Bank and the Post Office. 51 Walden is a short walk from the Concord stop on the MBTA’s Fitchburg commuter rail line from North Station and Porter Square.
