Dante Alighieri Society Presents SICILIANA - A Celebration of Culture with Author Carlo Treviso

Presented by Dante Alighieri Society of Massachusetts at Dante Alighieri Society of Massachusetts

Author Carlo Treviso is bringing a revolutionary voice to the historical thriller genre with his debut novel, Siciliana. As theĀ first-generation son of a Sicilian immigrant family, Treviso wrote Siciliana to change the paradigm of how Sicily and Sicilians are portrayed in popular entertainment. Meaning moving the narrative away from stereotypical mafia dons and casino mobsters and into the beguiling world of forbidden knights, forgotten fortresses, and fallen kings of medieval Sicily.
Inspired by a dramatic 13th century uprising known as the Sicilian Vespers, Treviso uses the craft of storytelling to transform cultural perceptions and celebrate his Sicilian heritage through creativity and conservation.
