SOLSTICE: Reflections on Winter Light is an annual event at Mount Auburn Cemetery that includes an outdoor journey through large-scale light and sound artworks, and an indoor experience with live music and candle lighting. Guests are invited to walk through the light-filled landscape and explore the Winter Solstice atmosphere, and to reflect on moments of change as the year ends and a new cycle begins. Connect to a landscape of exceptional beauty, consider an intention for the new year, or commemorate the memory of a loved one. Let the Solstice light your way as you encounter the unique spirit of Mount Auburn.
Event Dates: Dec 10-11, Dec 13-18, Dec 20-21
There will be timed entries every half hour beginning at 5:00pm. The last timed entry will be 8:30pm. Mount Auburn will close at 9:30pm.

Tuesday, December 13th is our Pay What You Want night! Guests will have three options for an Adult ticket: $30, $20, or $10. This special discount is only applicable for Adult tickets; Youth tickets will not be discounted.

The event route will stay on paved roads and both Chapels are accessible. The route is approximately ¾ mile, which includes the distance from the parking area to Story Chapel, and does include steep grades. Please contact us for additional questions or to request additional accommodations.
