Global Counterparts by Lou Jones

Presented by Artists-at-Large, Inc at Boston Public Library: Hyde Park Branch

GLOBAL COUNTERPOINT is an ambitious retrofit of many photographs from all over the world. Much of my career has been spent on assignments around the globe. Each image is a fugitive in the many moments surrounding my adventures.

"I work to bring ideas & events to the attention of people who may never have the opportunity to experience themselves. Things too large for people to see, too small, too fast, too slow. Things that are obvious or too insignificant to pay attention. I make photographs of things that people think they already know & hopefully change their minds. Evidence. Also I discover new. Photography is the closest thing we have to a universal language. We do not need translation, interpretation or Rosetta Stone to understand. However there is much effort to getting there & back & understanding enough to make good photographs." -Lou Jones, October 2022
