Enjoy an early autumn evening on the lawn at the Christian Science Plaza in the Back Bay with singer/songwriter Britt Connors, a jazz harp trio with Charles Overton and Tyson Jackson, and The Backstreet Bais Indian Quartet.
Start your autumn music season off right with this free concert on the lawn of the Christian Science Plaza in the Back Bay. The three-hour concert will feature music from three diverse groups criss-crosssing the forms of jazz, folk, and international music. Enjoy free access to the new How Do You See the World? exhibit and the Mapparium™ throughout the concert. Food truck service will also be available.
The concert’s headliner, singer-songwriter Britt Connors and her band perform a mix of blended blues, folk, and country with jazz voicings. The Tyson Jackson Trio featuring harpist Charles Overton leads off the concert with the jazz stylings of drummer Jackson, acoustic bassist Max Ridley, and Overton’s unique harp sounds, which can cover both jazz and classical music. Overton has performed with the Boston Symphony and at international jazz series alike. He currently teaches at the Berklee College of Music in Boston.
