The McMullen Museum of Art welcomes you to The Annual Josephine Von Henneberg Lecture in Italian Art to be held October 3 from 5:30 to 6:30pm with a reception to follow in Room 111 of the McMullen Museum of Art.
“Thinking through the Objects: Displaying the Italian Renaissance at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston” with Marietta Cambareri, Senior Curator of European Sculpture and Jetskalina H. Phillips Curator of Judaica, Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.
In celebration of the opening of two new galleries of Italian Renaissance art at the MFA, Boston, this lecture will explore ways that works of art can be presented to tell stories and examine themes about Renaissance Italy for today’s audiences, comprising students, specialists, artists, and the museum-going public. How we reach new audiences, incorporate recent scholarship, take new perspectives on the past, and serve the collection is an evolving balancing act!
Co-sponsored by the Art, Art History, and Film Department and the McMullen Museum of Art, Boston College
This event is free and open to the public.
