Rosamond Purcell: Nature Stands Aside, the artist's first retrospective, reflects the breadth of Purcell’s career from the late 1960s to the current day and includes over 150 of the the conceptual artist's photographs, assemblages, collages, and installations. Purcell's work speaks eloquently to her persistent interrogation of the ways in which humanity attempts to understand the world around it,  encouraging viewers to see things, in the words of Minor White, ”not only for what they are but for what else they are.”
